AZUMAYA

               - Japanese Shade Structure -

           This beautiful structure is fabricated from

          select tight knot western red cedar, using

          traditional joinery techniques, and modern fasteners.

  The posts are 6 X 6, the beams 6 X 8,  

and the rafters are 4 X 6.

  All pieces are carefull detailed

and sanded, and come pre-drilled

for assembly.        

    The posts are set into deep concrete footings,

 eliminating the need for diagonal post braces. Copper

 wrapped around the bases helps prevent rot at this

 vulnerable spot where moisture and oxygen are present.

 Bamboo is included with this Kit, but

it must be cut on-site after being fastened

to the frame.

   This structure can also be tailored to fit your site,

 page.You can also purchase solid roof sheathing locally, 

 then cover this azumaya with shingles or roof tiles.
