Our creative designs for shade, and custom shade
structures for decks protect the outdoor space, and shelter it from

The fujidana at the far end of this hillside deck provides a cool
and breezy spot.

The fujidana, a Japanese style post and beam shade
structure, protects the area during the heat of the day.
The bamboo roof covering shields the sun while defining
the area, and can be rolled up in the fall to let in the
light.

We like to use 6' x 15' rolls of high quality, copper tied bamboo
fencing as the shade element on our shade structures. The cane is
very hard and durable, and the shade cast is nice and cool, maybe
80% shade. Come fall, you can roll up the bamboo and let in the
sun.
