I finished putting the roof on the gable this spring. I’m very pleased with how it turned out. It’s been a great addition to my backyard and we use it all the time. My daughter calls it “Daddy’s Cabana.” I still haven’t done the landscaping around it like I had planned, the wife and I haven’t been able to agree on what we want to do.

I had a ton of fun working on the gable and learned a lot along the way. It was so much fun that I almost wish I could start over and do it again. If I have any regrets it would be that I wasn’t more picky about some of lumber I selected. Most of it is real nice but there are a few pieces that I knew I was compromising on and now I wish I didn’t, but it’s not bad by any means.

I’m very happy with it and never imagined that it was going to turn out as nice as it did. Your plans were great. Thanks for all your help and guidance. Now I’m looking for my next project!
