These Chashitsu Designs have an Extended Roof, overhanging the main building by almost 6′, sheltering the surrounding Deck / Engawa. The Roof is a Dutch Hip, or Irimoya style, with an exposed, curved Ridge Beam.

* These Chashitsu can be Lengthened, as long as the Gable End Dimension stays the same, by adding Rafters along the length of the building.
They can be built in a more traditional Japanese style, without using a curved extended Ridge Beam.
*Our Plans include complete Details for the Roof, Posts and Beams, inner floor framing and surrounding Engawa / Deck . We don’t supply any Interior or Exterior Wall or foundation Details, or Plans for the Shoji, Windows, Doors, Etc. shown in these CAD Images.
* These Japanese style inspired Buildings are Designed Western Style, with Rafters, Ridge Beam, Rafter Ties, and Modern (mostly concealed) Fasteners instead of the Traditional Japanese Roof Joinery.

We email you the JPG Image Files for each Plan Page which you print out at home on 8.5″ x 11″ paper.
* Knee Braces or other Lateral Bracing (usually hidden in walls) required by your Site Conditions and local Code not completly shown in these Plans.
We don’t supply any Engineering Data for our Azumayas, usually not a problem with our smaller structures, but with our larger Azumayas you may or may not need to have a local Architect or Engineer review and stamp the Plans.
